Station
Time Series Display
The Station
Time Series Display provides graphical displays of weather information in a more efficient and flexible manner than previously provided via MesoWest.
Users can toggle a number of options:
- size of graphics (small, medium, or large)
- colored lines, color fills, or black and white graphics
- length of the time series from 12 hours to a month
- 1 or 2 graphical panels
The graphical panels can display different sets of variables for the same station or different ones. The user can use the automatic scaling or specify lower or upper bounds.
Variables that can be displayed are:
- Temperature, dew point temperature, and relative humidity
- Wind speed, gusts, and direction in a scalar format
- Vector wind
- Pressure (station pressure and either altimeter setting or sea level pressure)
- Event and accumulated precipitation
- Event snow or snow depth
- Incoming solar radiation
This interface is a work in progress, so please provide comments and suggestions. There are a number of undesirable features at the present time (e.g., color fills below values of zero are a bit odd).
MesoWest has been designed for use by National Weather Service
meteorologists and other professionals for protection of life and property as well as use for a variety of other applications.
Comments and suggestions for improvement are encouraged and can
be sent to atmos-mesowest@lists.utah.edu.
