C5988 Data Quality Graph

The following graph displays absolute average differences between C5988 and nearby stations from a linear regression analysis.
Data quality checks are conducted for temperature, dew point, pressure, and wind which are then utilized to flag stations as Caution.

For more information on the statistical analysis, see MesoWest Quality Control Help.

A station will be flagged as Caution if one of the following instances occurs...

1) Absolute average difference for Temperature (see graph below) rises above 15.
2) Absolute average difference for Pressure (see graph below) rises above 15.
3) Absolute average difference for Dew Point (see graph below) rises above 20.
4) Wind check analysis reveals an overwhelming majority of wind observations have the same values (speed, direction, or gusts) over a 3-day period.

Please note that station distance and elevation differences are factored into these statistics. A Caution flag due to not passing the wind check is typically easy
to spot in the data itself, as there often is a continuous string of wind observations that have the same direction, speed, and gust values for a long period of time.

Also note that a Caution designation does not necessarily mean the data is bad, since there may be local conditions at a site which cause it to vary from its neighbors.
